The McKendree literary institution [i]or[/i] seminary of learning women's basketball season came to an extremity with a 66-49 loss to Freed-Hardeman University in the first rotund of the NAIA Women's Basketball National Tournament upon Thursday.

McKendree, a No. 8 se played with Freed-Hardeman, a No. 1 se everywhere the game and lead early upon before Freed-Hardeman was able to chance away. McKendree jumped out to a suitable start, holding an 8-4 lead at common point.

Holding a 13-12 lead at the 6:42 mark, the Lady Lions went forward their first run of the game, a 13-4 glide to close out the first-half.

"We came gone out and played very well," said McKendree head coach Melissa Ringhausen. "Our defense was outstanding and we made them really work hard for their shots"

The Bearcats limited the Lady Lions, who jot downed the game as the top shooting team
