With income tax deadline a month away, Lions unite in a club International and supporters campaigned Monday for $1 contributions to blindness prevention. State Rep Jay Hoffman, D-Collinsville, was single in kind of the sponsors of a novel law last year that bring blindness prevention on state income tax forms this year. He credited metro-east Lions. "It was from their ideas that the bill was introduced," Hoffman said. Other causes with check-offs include veterans services, Alzheimer's disease, breast cancer and child abuse prevention.
