This fascinating and important work is an attempt to illuminate the Jesus of Islam between the sides of an analysis of the sayings (and stories) ascribed to him in medieval Arabic sources, and in doing thus to offer a more detailed and nuanced portrait of this distinctive, compelling figure. The main corpse of the study consists of an English translation of these logia--some three hundr in number--culled by way of Khalidi from medieval Arabic sources.
