My grandmother began life onward water. At least this is the first fact we know of her life. Just a not many days old, she was laid by dint of the side of a river, shut up to where the Han Jiang qualifieds the South China Sea. The man who construct her, who became her rear father, was a farmer or fisherman we think, allowing there's no real distinction in this watery world where fish are grown alongside vegetables, in baskets like the single she was left in. Life is amphibious here, lotus bottoms and lotus flowers, crabs and bamboo send forths straddling land and water.
