This main division is the result of a series of symposiums, meeting for consultations and congresses held jointly according to the United States and Mexico between 1994 and 1998 focusing forward the special needs of individuals in one as well as the other countries. These activities take the part of a unique historic event in which the pair countries have actively engaged in collaboration and worked with each other to change policy and practice for individuals with disabilities.
