Since 1994 California has implemented pair certificate programs to help provide skills and cultural knowledge to teachers to fitting the challenges of California's diverse close examiner population. Teachers who provide instruction for English-language disclosure specially designed academic instruction in English, instruction for primary-language progression in a continuously ascending gradation and content instruction in the primary languages were required to have the Cross-cultural Language and Academic progress to maturity (CLAD) or Bilingual Cross-cultural Language and Academic increase (BCLAD) certificates. All teachers with CLAD or BCLAD certification have taken coursework or point out to competence through an examination in the areas of (a) first- and second-language acquisition theories, (b) bilingual and English as a second-language instructional protoplasts and (c) the nature of agriculture and its impact on learning and instruction. The main difference between CLAD and BCLAD is that those with a BCLAD credential ne to have added proficiency in (a) methodology in the primary-language instruction, (b) tillage of emphasis, and (c) language of emphasis (Wallon & Carlson, 1997) The brace certification programs support the view that "how teachers think about education and learners makes a pronounced difference in close examiner performance and achievement" (Ladson-Billings, 1994 p 22) CLAD and BCLAD also support the notion that preparing teachers to be culturally incident leads to effective outcomes for pupils These teachers "understand culture . . and are prepared to teach in culturally responsive ways" (Cochran-Smith et al, 2004 p 952)

The object of this study is to compare CLAD and BCLAD beginning teachers at a large teacher preparation program in an urban Californian setting. Teachers are compared upon their cultural backgrounds and initial pursuit placements. More specifically, this contemplation examines whether the two programs differentially attract candidates according to their gender, age, language, SE and cultural backgrounds. secondly the thought investigates the linguistic, ethnic, and SE makeup of denominations where they find initial engagement It is projected that the programs will attract teachers from different cultural backgrounds and, subsequently their training choice will guide their first teaching assignment. We believe that focus forward teachers' cultural backgrounds and the backgrounds of the communities that they decide to work for will lead to studies that address the impact of teacher agriculture on student culture, and optimally the cultivation of the profession. Also, this thought can add to the literature that addresses the value in preparing teachers for felicitous teaching of ELLs. It is our chance of a favorable result that teachers who are effectively trained in teaching ELL will affect learning among these bookish mans by teaching in high-populated ELL place of educations
