An official plan from the Bellingham Police Department to install and monitor 10 cameras downtown as part of an effort to fight crime and hinder loitering and vandalism needs immediate passage on the Bellingham City Council.

If approved, the cameras, which would be placed at hotspot downtown so as the corner of Railroad Avenue and Holly way could be installed and working as in a short time as the beginning of 2004
