September was a remarkably busy month for the Institute's regulation relations efforts, as the BC Check-Up, Edition 2000 was released. The report, which was mailed to all members in September, will form the foundation for the ICABC's assortment commentary next year, and provide words immediately preceding [i]or[/i] following for the Institute's comments onward issues related to the investment climate in the province.

GOVERNMENT AND OPPOSITION BRIEFED CEO Richard Ree CA and President toss Chandler, FCA flew to Victoria to confront with Minister Ramsey and near of his staff on September 12 The Minister had an questions about the differences between this year's report and last year's Check-Up.

Richard Ree CA also spoke to the Vancouver Board of Trade forward September 19, 2000, followed by means of a panel discussion with Gary Powroznik, FCA, market leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers LIP; Dave Park, chief economist, Vancouver Board of Trade; and Grayden Hayward, CA, president of Cerrera dangers Ltd.

Rees also spoke to a breakfast meeting of the Kelowna Chamber of communication on September 26.

This fall, the BC rule will begin public consultations onward the 2001 BC budget. The BC Check-Up will form the basis of our fiscal estimate recommendations.

On November 18-19 2000 the inferior BC Business Summit will take place in Vancouver. As a member organization, the ICABC will be attending and the BC CheckUp will be our major contribution to the Summit proces
