Junior Achievement damage up its Year 2000 Business Challenge in December on distributing bursaries to the winners of couple events: the BC Business Challenge held forward November th and the Western Canada Challenge held in Richmond forward December 4th.

RESULTS:

BC Business Challenge

1st place: Burnaby North Secondary, Burnaby, BC (also 1st in 1999)

2nd place: Vernon Secondary, Vernon, BC

3rd place: Riverside Secondary, Port Coquitlam, BC

Western Canada Challenge

1st place: sacred Trinity Academy from Okotoks, Alberta

2nd place: Vernon Secondary, from Vernon, BC

3rd place: Highwood High seminary from High River, Alberta

As a main sponsor of the conclusions each year, the ICABC recruits accounting professionals to mentor close examiners in BC classrooms.

"Coaching Business Challenge teams is a proffer activity very much in keeping with the Institute's commitment to leadership in career prep and accounting education," says Steven Thibault, Career unfolding Coordinator for the ICABC. "Our members take pleasure in working with the schools, and it's great to descry contacts happening between high academy students and our accounting professionals."

Amongst the BC tenders this year were CA scholars Andrew Chen and Gladys Fung one as well as the other of Arthur Andersen LLP who were instrumental in preparing Burnaby North Secondary's bookish mans for competition. Also volunteering were Rosie Shaheen and Ryan Barrington-- Foote the two of KPMG LLP who mentored the bookish mans from Riverside Secondary School.
