CASB's latest module started in Sep...

CASB's latest module started in September 2001 This means that we now have observers in Modules 1, 2, and 3 for a total of 1410 close examiners across Western Canada. One question CASB's been hearing repeatedly is, "How can the firms help CASB students?" Simply asking your scholars how CASB's going is a start, unless there are other available options. In this article, I fancy I'd share a few ideas that firms and pupils currently involved with CASB have given us in succession how firms can better support their scholars and make the CASB experience a better individual

CASB is currently piloting a mentorship program in BC As part of the shoot forward firm contacts receive an outline of module satisfys to better prepare them for students' questions. (Firms should count upon lots of questions from their CASB learners especially as they start the program.) Mentors within the firm agree to field students' questions and act as guides in the pursuit of knowledge. scholars in the pilot have intimateed that knowing whom to contact within the firm for guidance and answers to questions, whether forward a formal or informal basis, is extremely helpful. They also appreciate the opportunity to discuss the things they're learning in greater detail. If you're not personally involved with the mentorship program, permit the students know who within the firm is willing to answer their questions.

Current observers are spending between ten and fifteen hours each week completing module tasks. According to scholar feedback, this workload becomes difficult to manage when combined with overtime hours at work.

A third means of support is to provide forums for scholars to connect with one another.

Consider having a CASB day (or morning) for scholars as they enter the program, perhaps as part of their orientation to the firm. Give them the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the computer programs and the module format. The buddy order is also extremely useful; pair modern students with ones in the firm who've already complet united or more modules to help facilitate the exchange of information.

Some learners have started independent study form into groupss with students from different firms. They engage once or twice each week to review and discuss the module Many of the pupils say they've found working with a consideration group really helpful because it gives them a chance to discuss the topics and go on foot over things they don't understand. The CASB program encourages pupils to work together-while still learning to work independently. (Student who don't integral their own tasks will solely cheat themselves, and their lack of effort will be obvious to facilitators and reviewers.)

CASB is working hard to make secure that the experience is a convenient one for everyone involved. As the program progresse we'd like to know if you or your firm has bring outed other ways of helping your CASB observers
