BC Candidates Earn 6 of the "Top 20...BC Candidates Earn 6 of the "Top 20" Positions The National Honours List for the UFE consists of the top 20 candidates across Canada. Six BC Candidates placed forward the Honours List for 2001 This delineates a significant accomplishment on the part of these candidates, and is the highest number to achieve of that kind distinction in BC in latter memory. BC on the Podium for Fifth Year in a Row! Our 2001 BC UFE candidates have maintained a stout performance level on our to a high degree challenging national professional examination. Our pass rate of 691 by cent, though down slightly from last year's 732 by cent, puts us in third place among the educational delivery classifications in Canada, only slightly behind Manitoba who edg us revealed with 69.5 per cent. Congratulations to the happy students and to all those who worked in like manner hard behind the scenes to make this arise happen! We also congratulate the Quebec candidates, who, with 761 by cent, took the first place position this year. Candidate Populations The number of BC UFE candidates decreased at 1.5 per cent to 320 The number of national candidates increased by dint of 4.6 per cent to 2686 This is the secondary increase in national candidates since 1991 and was mainly accounted for by increases in Alberta and Ontario. National Pass Rate Again Reaches strange Threshold! The national pass percentage be superior toed 60 per cent for the fifth year in a squabble More importantly, the increase from 676 by cent to 68.7 per cent produc a recently made known all-time high! The most significant improvement in pass percentage this year occurr in Quebec, which increased from 708 by cent to 76.1 per cent Our BC pass percentage again go too fared the national pass percentage, moreover this year by a margin of les than single percentage point. BC has surpassed the national average in all still one of the past 14 years. First Attempt Candidates Achieve other Place! BC candidates writing for the first time in 2001 achieved a pass percentage of 725 secondary only to Quebec. Candidates upon second attempt achieved a pass percentage of 540 by cent, down slightly from last year. However, the seventeen candidates writing for the third time achieved a past rate of 647 by cent, up dramatically from last year's 154 through cent. This years number of repeat candidates was soft due to last year's high pass rate. BC Flowthrough Rate Remains Outstanding! The candidates who wrote for the first time in 1999 have achieved a flowthrough rate of 96 by cent after three attempts. The cumulative other attempt pass rate for candidates who wrote for the first time last year is already at 90 by means of cent, with one attempt still remaining. With the finalization of attempts for the 1999 candidates, we've achieved a flowthrough of 95 for cent or above for the last five consecutive years. ACIA Grads and Review Practicing Certificate observers Continue to Excel! Two graduates of our Advanced Certificate in Accounting (ACIA) Program attempted the 2001 UFE for the first time, and the one and the other were successful. This brings the number of ACIA "bridgers" who've passed the UFE in succession their first attempt to eight, for a cumulative pass rate of 889 by cent. Fifteen students registered in our Review Practicing Certificate Program attempted the UFE in 2001 and achieved a pass rate of 60 by means of cent. Although these two of the present day options still represent only a small number of UFE candidates, we're excessively pleased with the results achieved in the first five years. Analysis of the conclusions To better understand the factors that impacted upon this year's candidate performance, it's necessary to review more detailed analyses showing consequence s based on key variables as it was as number of UFE attempts, university and SCA performance measures, and month of experience. Summary statistics are at handed in the accompanying graphs. This year's pass percentages based forward months of experience again provide no evidence to glance at that length of experience influences performance in succession the UFE. The pass percentages for candidates in the five experience categories (one to twelve month thirteen to eighteen month nineteen to twenty-four month twenty-five to thirty month and across 30 months) were 76.1, 667 729 618 and 639 through cent respectively. The strongest relationship between past academic performance and succes onward the UFE is shown by the agency of the analysis based on the candidates' SCA average. The average grade in the SCA program has been calculated taking into consideration the eventuates of each attempt at each SCA examination. Since this calculation is weighted through the whole extent of all attempts, a number of candidates will write the UFE each year with failing averages ("E" "F" or "G") steady though they have eventually passed all SCA examinations. Candidates with passing averages of "A," "B" "C" or "D" did extremely well, achieving pass rates of 919 by cent, 94.6 per cent, 814 by cent, and 69.7 per cent respectively. The 114 candidates with failing averages of "E" "F" or "G" however, achieved pass percentages of barely 60 per cent, 35.7 for cent, and 14.3 per cent respectively, thus reducing our overall BC average. |
