Bryan McKnight, CA, chair of the CA Education Foundation of BC (CAEF), is pleased to announce the appointment by means of the UBC Faculty of traffic and Business Administration of Dr Kin look CA, to the CA Professorship in Accounting. Dr look is the first professor to hem in the position, which was made possible by dint of a gift from the CAER The Professorship in the Faculty of mercantile relations and Business Administration at the University of British Columbia provides a capable continuing bridge to the accounting profession, particularly to the CA profession. Dr look will be involved in curriculum progress to maturity and teaching, as well as serving as an advocate for the UBC accounting program within the profession. "I'm remarkably gratified by this honour," says Dr look "The CA Professorship helps UBC trade maintain its leadership in accounting education and research in an increasingly competitive market for business educators. Being appointed to this professorship provides me with more resources for research and course progressive growth enabling me to better prepare the nearest generation of chartered accountants and other business professionals." Dr see joined UBC Commerce in 1999 He clinchs an undergraduate degree from the University of Calgary and a doctorate from the Kellogg Graduate denomination of Management. A chartered accountant prior to undertaking his PhD he worked as an auditor and tax specialist in industry. Dr behold teaches financial accounting and tax planning, and he's actively involved as a faculty advisor, coaching close examiners in business case competitions. His research interests focus forward the economic impact of financial reporting regulation, and his research addresses questions important to the subsequent time of the CA profession; these include to what degree external parties use financial reports, and for what cause political and economic forces shape regulatory regimes. Understanding by what means information drives decision-making and for what cause regulatory regimes drive reporting is important in developing yield and service lines that will continue to increase the profession's relevance in a changing business environment.
