They're also the decisions that above 1,100 high school students in 38 classrooms around the province have to make during the Junior Achievement (JA) Business Game program, sponsored at ICABC. In the Business Game, pupils in grades 11 and 12 taking classes in economics, accounting, or general business are challenged to apply business theories learned in the classroom to an innovative management simulation operating their avow Cyberpen company. To compete fortunately within the industry, students must understand and plan each natural medium of their company's strategy thoroughly: price, production, marketing, capital investment, and research and progression in a continuously ascending gradation Through cooperative learning, teams must analyze company and industry data, formulate strategies, justify their decisions, and evaluate the issues Each decision reflects a quarter in the simulated business world, with the ends of these decisions often felt for several quarters (as in the real business environment). Delivered within CD-Rom, the game allows teachers to divide the class into competing teams of 5-8 scholars The teams follow a series of ten precept plans with regular visits from members of the business community who act as tender business coaches. "The pupils are great," says Andy Kam, a CA scholar with Grant Thornton. "They want to hear about the business world and my experiences in it. And they can't wait to come by their results back each week." TITAN is a one-of-a-kind business simulation that inspires entrepreneurial teen to become captains of industry. Traditionally, the Business Game has culminated in the Business Challenge, for which scholars from around the province gather for a one-day face-to-face competition.
