SMALLTALK: What chases are just a...SMALLTALK: What chases are just a few of the ideas for tax season stres relief tendered by the American members of AccountingWeb. After realising just by what means many of these tips involve nourishment (see www.accountingweb.com/item/97169), I'm considering including a post-tax-season cholesterol checklist in nearest month's issue of the magazine. A not many suggestions for firm managers and directors: 1 contribute meals every Monday through Thursday during tax season. For example, hire a caterer for three of the four days, order pizza forward Thursdays, then supply doughnuts and a chill sandwich lunch on Saturdays. The actual hall ends with: "Food, food, food!" 2 place up bulk-food-type bins in your kitchen with everything from crackers to M&M to revived fruit. Morefood! 3 Theme meal or theme day: Picnic, Mexican, Fifties Party etc Ecnourage staff to wear appropriate attire for individual of the above ideas. Hang a pinata in the staff kitchen and master a little aggression out of the way? This pinata would, of course, be filled with more food! 4 station disposable cameras around the office for those "Kodak tax season moments" Take candid shooters and combine them into a PowerPoint surprise presentation for an after-tax-season party. And here's a great bullet of Gary in a sugar coma " 5 Provide a concierge service to staff. Hire someone to flow errands for staff members who are too busy to pick up their dry-cleaning. 6 Scavenger look Make up a list of "Find someone who..." phrases and encourage employee to have it complet on the end of the week. This is a great way to encourage employee interaction during those lengthy days at their desks. At least you would be getting them moving. 7 Have a baby or favorite photo contest. Encourage employees to bring in their photos and employment them on a bulletin board in your break chamber Then have your staff gues whose baby photo or darling photo is whose. 8 "Dres your manager day." Managers would be set or put in ordered for a day by their staff. As AccountingWEB cautions. "Have a scarcely any ground rules." Otherwise you can imagine the possibilities. 9 bring forward the firm's partners' heads in succession turkey clipart and affix them to jars. Then place them in the lobby and ask staff to inflict money in to vote for the biggest turkey undivided firm raised hundreds of dollars for the local rations bank, and people were apparently in the same manner excited about the contest they were throwing in $20 at a time. Does anyone otherwise think this sounds like a bad idea? 10 Have a massage therapist approach in on Fridays to do half-hour sessions. Perhaps the "biggest turkey" merits a full hour-either that, or give permission to them take an extra tie of whacks at the pinata. Reprinted with permission from AccountingWEB, Inc.
