In "Adding Value: A Strategy for Me...
In "Adding Value: A Strategy for Members in Industry" (May 2004) we promised to maintain you up to date as the Institute implements the four actions gradations of its new industry strategy. As part of the inferior action step (sec "Action" list below), the Institute has appointed Veronica Dolenc, CA (pronounced Dolentz), as its industry representative. Effective mid-October, Veronica will be calling members when they make the incite into industry to tell them about our services and lease them know they have someone to talk to at the Institute. She will contribute to essentially the same purpose for members in industry as our Professional Advisory Services (PAS) stalf does for members in public practice. Now, instead of contacting PAS for advice, members in industry can access the direct experience of a colleague in industry. In a first-person profile in the June/July 2001 issue of BN Veronica explained her reasons for closing her small public practice firm years ago to make the induce into industry. Since then, she's done consulting and contract work in BC and abroad, including stints with BC Hydro the Heart and hit Foundation oFBC, the World Bank, and the BC Institute. We're delighted to have her working with us again. "Members in industry are increasingly challenged with recent professional and ethical issues and, from my confess experience, may not reel they have the same support network that they one time had when working in public practice," Veronica says. "Its my sense of possible fulfilment that members in industry will use and value the modern services provided by the Institute." If you make the incline into industry, you can count upon a call from Veronica. And if you'd like to contact her yourself, she can be reached at dolenc@ica.bc.ca, or call the Institute's main switchboard at 604-681-3264 For general information forward the industry strategy, contact Lesley MacCrcgor at macgregor@ica.bc.ca.
