CONGRATULATIONS In recognition of h...CONGRATULATIONS In recognition of his long-term commitment to the Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA), Dolphe Hoffman, CA, received the VRCAs 2004 Lifetime Achievement Award this past November. Hoffman serv as president of the VRCA in 1983 and as a special assistant to its chief staff officer in 1990 He has also serv onward the boards of both the BC and Canadian Construction Associations. Prior to his retirement, Hoffman worked in the carbonized iron industry for a number of companies, ultimately serving as president of Richmond Recycling, a subsidiary of Western Canada armor in which capacity he also serv forward the advisory board to Cominco Ltd After retiring, Hoffman became a consultant, assisting the Ukrainian conduct with labour contracts and teaching Western management techniques at the University of Kazakhstan. NOTICE: MEMBER'S HANDBOOK REVISIONS Revisions made to the Accountants (Chartered) Act in early 2004 permit Council to approve changes to the Institute's bylaws and dominations of professional conduct for immediate purport prior to presenting these changes to the membership for confirmation. Accordingly, the ICABC Member's Handbook is updated regularly upon the Institute's website at www.ica.bc.ca to include: 1 Amendments to bylaws and dominations of professional conduct approved by way of Council during a year and confirmed on the membership at the Annual General Meeting; and 2 Amendments to bylaw regulations and council interpretations to the controls of professional conduct approved by dint of Council during a year. The following is a summary of the principally recent changes approved by Council: September 23 2004 * Bylaw 600 - Amended to increase the number of public representatives onward the Practice Review and Licensing Committee from individual to two.
