David Braithwaite, CA, has been honoured with the Community Futures' (Central Island) present of the Year Award. His selection was lately announced by the organization at its annual BC-wide talk in Cranbrook. Braithwaite serves forward the board of Community subsequent times as treasurer and on the organization's self-employment committee, which helps of the present day businesses get started. Wayne Kuyer CA, CFP of de Verteuil & Kuyer Ltd in Langley, was profiled in the December 10 2004 issue of the Langley newspaper Advance recently made knowns for his work with the Scrooge and Marley Christmas capital which he and business partner Stephen de Verteuil, CA, formed in 1996 Each year, adjusted as Dickensian "accountants" Jacob Marley and Ebenezer Scrooge the pair approached Langley businesses in the room for expectations of raising money for charity. Since dc Verteuil's passing in 2002 Kuyer (aka Marley) has continued the tradition forward his own. Almost $52,000 has been raised since the Fund's inception, with 100% going to charity. This year alone Kuyer raised $10100 with stocks going to the Langley Christmas Bureau and the Province devoid of contents Stocking Fund.
