The Ministry of Provincial reward ...

The Ministry of Provincial reward has partnered with small business organizations to create the Taxpayer Fairness and Service Code-a digest that details a set of core values business possessors small and large can count upon when working with us. We believe the digest which was launched in January 2005 will improve communications in such a manner that problems are identified and resolv quickly or avoided altogether, resulting in les of a freight on business and more efficient reward collection by the ministry.

The Taxpayer Fairness and Service digest was developed in partnership with the ICABC, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, the BC Chamber of intercourse the Retail Merchants' Association of BC the Retail Council of Canada, and the Sales Tax Practitioners' Liaison Committee. It consists of a plant of principles detailing customers' rights to courtesy, reverence and confidentiality in their dealings with the ministry, and commits us to the following standards:

* Courtesy and esteem - Customers have the right to professional and courteous treatment.

* Privacy and confidentiality - Customers have the right to anticipate us to protect the confidentiality of their information without compromise.

* Help - Customers have the right to obtain our help to such a degree that they can clearly understand their obligations and entitlements.

* Fair treatment - Customers have the right to calculate upon us to apply the law fairly and impartially in such a manner that they can have confidence in the ministry when we carry abroad activities critical to the funding of public services.

* Information - Customers have the right to beg for and receive complete, accurate, and clear information (in writing) in a timely matter in such a manner that they can be aware of their obligations and entitlements.

* Understanding - Customers have the right to count upon us to clearly explain the business we manners with them and the degrees we will follow.

* Dispute resolution - Customers have the right to look for a review of their situation if they disagree with an action we've taken or a decision we've made, if they be wrought up they have been treated unfairly, or if they have received information they believe to be misleading or unclear.

* A timely appeal - Customers have the right to a timely appeal process

I firmly believe the Taxpayer Fairness and Service digest will strengthen partnership with small business and make British Columbia the best place in Canada to do business.
