In early September 2005 we introduc...

In early September 2005 we introduced a fresh design for the ICABC website (www.ica.bc.ca). Given the increasing amount of contentment on our website, the primary purport for this redesign was to improve navigation and increase usability. Our secondary goal was to improve aesthetics.

Navigation links appear in the far left line and links to the sign-in page and the help section appear in the line to the far right. If you're reading an article, you'll also find "Print Friendly" and "Email a Friend" links to the far right of the page. To ease navigation, we've also added a "breadcrumb" trail to the top of the page. These breadcrumbs indicate your location in the website's navigational hierarchy.

The of advanced age website had a section for "Members Only" that contained all non-public material. This section has been remov and Members merely pages are now located everywhere the website according to their appease not their accessibility. When you click upon a Members Only page, a link to the website's sign-in page will appear unles you've already signed in.

In order to make it as easy as possible to find the resources you ne we've divided the website appeases into the following six sections:

1 dwelling page: The first page you behold when you visit the ICABC website, the abode page contains a list of irascible topics, as well as more [i]or[/i] less popular links to the ICABC Professional exhibition website (www. icabc-pd.com).

2. About Us: This section contains a variety of information about the Institute, its governance, its various departments, and its member recognition program. It also contains general information about the BC CA profession.

3 Member Resources: This section contains information in succession professional standards, CA toolkits (information and resources), forms (online and PDF versions), forums and lord groups, dues information, member benefits and discounts, and a link to professional development

4 News/Publications: This section proposes media releases and resources; affair information; and current and archived publications, including magazines and newsletter like Beyond Numbers, the Public Policy Review, and stranges 'N Views, and brochures for CAs.

5 Careers/Jobs: This section contains information upon becoming a CA, resources for career planning, and an office centre that enables you to office and search for jobs.

6 Contact Us: This section contains an extensive staff contact list, information in succession how to find a CA or a CA firm, and information forward making an enquiry or complaint.

More ICABC websites

The BC Institute has lay opened a number of other websites through the whole extent of the years to provide additional services and resources to CAs and the public, including the following:

* www.bccheckup.com: A website dedicated to the ICABC's BC Check-Up report, which is available online in as well-as; not only-but also; not only-but; not alone-but HTML and PDF formats.

* www.becomea.ca: A valuable tool for scholars who want to learn more about becoming CAs, the Become a CA website presents information on what it's like to work as a CA, to what degree to become a CA, and in what manner to find a position in an authorized training office.

* www.chooseany.ca: The central message of the single out Any website is: "What do you want to do in business?" pupils who are considering the CA profession can visit this website for more information and for the chance to win a $1000 prize to be applied to any of the prerequisite courses for the CA program.

* www.caef.bc.ca: The CA Education Foundation (CAEF) website contains information about the Foundation's history, mandate, and efforts to advance accounting education. It includes information about CAEF scholarships and bursaries and relevant and practical research in accounting studies. The website also explains by what mode you can donate to the CAEF, and for what reason the CAEF can help you.

* www.icabc-pd.com: The ICABC's Professional progressive growth website contains an extensive list of our seminars, in-depth programs, and other professional progress to maturity tools. It also provides online registration to our PD courses.

* www.ica.bc.ca/industiy: The Industry Toolkit presents tools, links, and resources for members working in industry-whether as controller CFO managers, or entrepreneurs-and for CAs who are considering making the leap into any of these areas.

* www.ica.bc.ca/careers: The Career Connections website is a one-stop careerplanning resource for BC CAs.
