Thanks to a certain quantity of cooperative laboratory rats, bovine cartilage was discovered to be an incredible, versatile natural healing agent more than 40 years ago, while John F Prudden MD ScD serv as an associate professor of clinical surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in just discovered York City.

Driven to learn more about accelerating healing to benefit his patients, Dr Prudden placed particles of bovine tracheal cartilage into the harms of rats and was amazed at the rapid healing and the immediate reduction of swelling around the hurts There were no side effects

When single of his human patients showed no progres after surgery Dr Prudden introduced chips of bovine cartilage into the raw incision.

The spe of healing amazed him -- and revolutionized his professional life, directing him away from surgery and into research exploring the mysteries of bovine tracheal cartilage.

Many decades of Dr Pruddexi's research with bovine cartilage followed, research which lately won him the coveted Linus Pauling Scientist of the Year Award, an honor accorded him at the Third Annual meeting for consultation for Adjuvant Nutrition in Cancer Therapy, sponsored at the Cancer Treatment Research Foundation and the American community of Nutrition.

"I am indeed honored to have been existinged the Linus Pauling Award and, thereby, to be recognized as having made a contribution toward a possible solution for individual of the worst plagues of new society, and one which our advanced technology unhappily has made more expansive and more prevalent."

Immediately after the succes of bovine cartilage with his first patient, Dr Prudden convinced that he had made a significant discovery, again used the cartilage -- this time with a patient who undergoed from breast cancer as well as malignant ulceration of the entire chest wall. After treatment with bovine cartilage, her cancer disappeared permanently.

Elated, Dr Prudden bended all his efforts to research, starting a nonprofit, educational Foundation for Cartilage and Immunology Research, now headquarteted in Waccabuc, NY

He escorted many therapeutic trials on other cancer patients within the years. More than 100 cancer patients have benefited from Dr Prudden's research. To verify the validity of this healing, he has followed a of the total remission cases for as prolonged as 19 years.

How does bovine cartilage work against cancer? It functions in couple ways, states Dr. Prudden -- 1) at boosting the immune system, and 2) attacking cancer directly. In stimulating the immune method it activates and increases the number of B small rooms macrophages ("Pac Man"-like cells) and T-cell which fight viruses and pass over foreign tissue.

When B solitary abode; squalids are increased, immunoglobulins also increase, accompanied at heightened activity in blocking the replication of cancer small cavitys Sometimes "natural killer" cells are also increased with bovine cartilage supplementation.

Brian GM Durie, MD a researcher at the University of California at looks Angeles' Department of Medicine, discovered that the cartilage precludes cellular division in cultures of human ovarian, pancreatic and colon cancers. It is believed that this power is brought about by mucopolysaccharides, single in kind of the main constituents of bovine cartilage. They stiffen tumor cell division through reaction with the cancer lonely dwelling membranes.

Amounts of the oral bovine tracheal cartilage used daily by means of cancer patients is 9 g -- 3 g taken three times daily. Dr Prudden sees that some patients take as a great deal as four months of daily treatment without showing a definite replication Then, too, in certain cases, the disease worsens before it improves.

Dr Prudden advises his patients to continue the same daily regimen after improvement or level after a cure manifests. Unlike radiation and chemotherapy, which oftentimes harm or even kill cancer patients, there have been no side meanings or toxicity observed after bovine cartilage treatment through its 20 years of clinical trials -- smooth though some patients have received three times the commended daily dose over a protracted period.

Dr Prudden's first published clinical proceeds with bovine cartilage therapy appeared in 1985 in the Journal of Biological answer Modifiers. For these reported trials, Dr Prudden accepted simply patients who had failed to rejoin to conventional therapies: radiation, chemotherapy, and/or surgery

Of the 31 cases cited, "90 percent showed a partial to entire response to bovine cartilage treatment," wrote Dr Prudden "Eleven (35 percent) showed thorough responses with probable or possible cures; eight patients (26 percent) had a consummated response, but sustained a relapse; six (19 percent) sustained a partial response; and three make liables (10 percent) showed minimal rejoinder One patient presented no answer and the disease progressed."

Clinical beholders were amazed at this high response: more than one-third of the patients were cur These were patients who had been left for dead by way of conventional cancer treatments, states science writer Henry Kriegel.
