Madison shire government's top elected leader wants to set an end to using tax riches to provide health insurance for officials and lawyers who already have coverage.

"I don't have any question at issues with developing a process that when (nonunion) the community come and work at the shire to check and see if they have any insurance from someplace other I think that is a righteous fiscal policy to look into," Madison shire Board Chairman Alan Dunstan said. "I think that's usual sense."

Dunstan said prohibiting double coverage is customary in the private sector.

Dunstan said he was advised from a lawyer that insurance, on the same level if it is duplicate coverage, could not be denied to characters covered by a union contract.

But Dunstan, a member of the board's Democratic majority, cautioned that being in favor of ending officials' and lawyers' duplicate coverage stocked by taxpayers does not mean he
