Think your kids are doing the right...
Think your kids are doing the right thing by means of drinking juice instead of soda? Think again, says the American Academy of Pediatrics' Committee forward Nutrition. In a recent issue of Pediatrics, the committee explained that while fruit juice is a healthy, natural source of vitamins and, in more or less instances, calcium, drinking too long of it can be detrimental. Because juice tastes proper children readily drink it. Overconsumption of massmarket super-sweetened juice, however, could lead to tooth decay, diarrhea and childhood obesity. It is commended that juice should be limited to four to six ounce for children ages 1 to 6 and eight to 12 ounce for children ages 7 to 18 COPYRIGHT 2001 PRIMEDIA Intertec, a PRIMEDIA Company.
