Although it was early 1995 it appears like only yesterday when I sat in an office at 5 Penn Plaza in Manhattan, at the ancient headquarters of what was then called Better Nutrition for Today's Living magazine. I was beaming, wide-eyed and enthusiastic, convinced that I could change the world, starting with this magazine. It's now 2002 and, looking back, we did make experiment of to change the world together--the yearly trips to Washington, DC to fight for your access to counterparts and to independent information about these productions We also fought to rewrite the National Organic regulations. Together we won! We battled for folic acid fortification--and we won! State by dint of state, we fought against legislation (like the Dietitian's Bill, in Texas) that would have taken away our rights--and we won! We fought for DHA to be allowed in infant formulas--and, you find outed it, we won! We on the same level battled drug-industry attorneys on FOX-TV--and won! The list faithfully goes on. And likewise now, do we: myself, Patti timbers Ren Knopf and David Pollard--the editorial and art staff of Better Nutrition. This is our last issue with the magazine, as our corporation has decided to induce our editorial operations to Virginia. They say if you be fond of something, set it free. float high and strong, Better Nutrition--for we will always be in love with this magazine and each, and each one of you. In proper health, I remain Yours mostly affectionately. James Gormley COPYRIGHT 2002 PRIMEDIA Intertec, a PRIMEDIA Company. All Rights Reserved COPYRIGHT 2002 Gale Group
