(a) fit to the growing interest in the health benefits of a plant-based diet, the University of Alabama is offering individual of the first online, college-level courses in vegetarian nutrition. Instructor Brie Turner-McGrievy, staff dietician with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, will teach the course, which is lay open to interested parties anywhere in the world via the Internet. "Vegetarian Nutrition" is geared toward nutrition and medical pupils and health professionals, and no prerequisites are required. Topics will include: * for what reason vegetarian nutrition helps prevent and treat heart disease, cancer and other illnesses; * for what cause a vegetarian diet aids weight los and provides the base for optimal health; and * Skill progress to maturity in menu planning and diet evaluation. The three-credit course will flow from June 4 through July 6 and the reward is $410.
