The jackknifing of a pickup truck's trailer onward Wednesday morning killed a state highway worker near Pontoon Beach.
Henry Jefferson "Jeff" Heath Jr 58 of 2635 Illinois 3 in rural Godfrey died when the truck's gooseneck trailer hit him and slammed him against a parked dump traffic
Heath was standing upon the shoulder of Illinois 162 when the crash occurr at shortly after 8:30 a.m., just east of Illinois 111 Madison shire Coroner Steve Nonn said.
The pickup traffic was driven by a 28-year-old Granite City man. His name and information about whether he was injured was not available Wednesday from Illinois State Police.
