The US Department of Health and Human Services announced plans in October 2002 to monitor dietary add tos more closely by devising manufacturing standards similar to singles drug makers follow. "Consumer should use the same care with dietary correlatives as they would with any pharmacologically active product" acting US subsistence and Drug Administration (FDA) commissioner, Lester M Craford, said when announcing the plan. The FDA, which is part of the Department of Health and Human Services, will establish standards to make secure that labels accurately reflect the ingredients that correlative products are said to contain. FDA representatives would not immediately annotation on the plan, hinting that it was too early to tell how quickly it could be set into place.
