The Village Board approved its 2006-07 fiscal estimate Tuesday, although one trustee vot against it because of certain village expenditures and elimination of the museum's alone professional.

Trustee Ron Slemer disagreed with other trustees and village leaders who believe the museum position is not necessary.

"How are we going to scour it without professional guidance," Slemer said. "Volunteer work hard and mean well."

Voter approved a $6 million prison issue in 2003 that included the $500000 renovation to the former dingle Carbon School building for the dell Carbon Heritage Museum.

In order for the village's museum to influence forward and gain even more recognition, Slemer said professional staff is exigencyed

"We've had the expertise. We've had paid professionals. And we should continue in that direction," Slemer said.
