While business holders may feel safer knowing they have a perimeter alarm regularity on their place of business, a change in policy at the Bellingham Police Deptartment may have them thinking harder about that faculty of perception of security. As of Jan. 1 the police department will no longer correspond to most perimeter alarms triggered between 6 a.m. and 10 pm at businesses within the city limits--unless they are verified from someone else to be a valid alarm.
