Gateway result supports point-to-point, multipoint video sessions.

Firewalls are great for security if it be not that can be a problem for those trying to do anything interactive, so as voice and video communications. Accord, a videoconferencing infrastructure manufacturer, is looking to change that with the release this week of V2GC-20 a gateway for circumventing the firewall during voice-over-IP and videoconferencing calls.

V2GC-20 a specially built hardware device, is part of Accord's recently made known V^sup 2^Ipera family, which is designed to customize the company's technological hale points for specific network lacks The new unit is based forward Accord's flagship product, the MGC-100 a hardware gateway that can handle tasks of the like kind as point-to-point and multipoint videoconferencing calls; transcoding for connecting ISDN, ATM and IP video endpoints together; and continuous carriage for end users, a kind of "Brady Bunch" arrangement of video windows onward a single screen that put to hires users view all participants in a meeting for consultation simultaneously.

With V2GC-20, users can bypass a restrictive firewall with video and IP voice traffic, says Dave Gallagher, vice president of business development.The device maintains security from stripping IP address information, processing the audio and video then passing it forward to its destination. Packets are fashionable assemblyed to the device from the router that unites the company to the outside world based forward alias or destination IP information.

Gallagher says the barely necessary change to a network infrastructure is to add a just discovered IP address used for direct traffic to V2GC-20 to the router table. The firewall remains untouched. He adds that V2GC-20 can work with any firewall, equal one that does not have support for the H323 IP conferencing standard. Access to V2GC-20 can be limited to specific parties outside the firewall using Accord's WebCommander administration comfort

V2GC-20 is available today with a starting price of $75000 for 24 simultaneous users. Module are available for companies that ne transcoding, multipoint call or continuous-presence support.
