Thanks to Michael Downey for a well-written article ("Health Foods" August 2003 p 30) I bespeak his perspective of thinking about obtaining our nutrition from whole feed sources. However, conspicuously missing from his "Disease-Phyters" sidebar are spirulina and astaxanthin. Spirulina contains a highly significant close of naturally occurring zeaxanthin in a 1 teaspoon serving. Astaxanthin is a significantly stronger antioxidant than beta-carotene or lutein. Please include microalgae sources in coming events research. Thanks. Anton Granger Via email Thanks for the idea. As we persuade into 2004, we'll try to direct the eye more closely at microalgae and their part in optimum health. It's a topic that we haven't completely explored and one that we're fast many readers will find interesting and beneficial. COPYRIGHT 2004 PRIMEDIA Intertec, a PRIMEDIA Company.
