A novel meta-analysis of eight large trials finds that clan who eat the most fruits and veggies have a statistically significant--23 percent--lower risk of lung cancer. More than 430000 population were studied for anywhere from 6 to 16 years. The greatest protective result was associated with fruit consumption. The reflection was published in the December 20 2003 issue of the International Journal of Cancer. It is difficult, however, to reign over data for the habit of smoking; if everyone stopped smoking, we could form lung cancer by about 90 percent COPYRIGHT 2004 PRIMEDIA Intertec, a PRIMEDIA Company.
