I was happy to view that there's someone else disclosed there who has noticed your lack of coverage regarding spirulina ("Sharing," February 2004 p 10) I was a friend of Dr Christopher Hills, the father of the flourishing Revolution, back in the 1980 when he began the first farm in California to combine the techniques penuryed to enhance spirulina so that it would bring out extra quantities of some of the carotenoids lacked for a healthy immune arrangement It has been distressing to me that information about spirulina has been largely overlooked lately researchers at the University of California, Davis did an extensive throw testing many of the theories propos at Dr. Hills and others. Their four-page report make goods many claims that had been largely anecdotal before this meditation was performed. Another great source of information upon spirulina is the Library of Congres and I'm fortunate to have a three-page synopsis of the roomful of reports that they have there. You probably realize that spirulina has been used at NASA for their astronauts and is popularly being grown in at least 40 countries. You would do a great service to your readers at highlighting this incredible and safe source of protein, especially in light of the late occurrence of mad cow disease in the United States. Betsy Carlson * Via email Thanks for the feedback. Judging from the rejoinder we've received from readers, there appear to bes to be a lot of interest in the health benefits of spirulina and other verdant foods. To that end, we've decided to explore this topic more thoroughly in 2004 turn the thoughts for an expanded feature article onward green foods in our October issue. An article in your January 2004 issue ("Snapshots," p 58) really got my attention. Is there a place where I could finish my hands on the reports of those analyses that the FDA does? Paul Lichtenstein * Via email We're glad you build that article interesting.
