It's the time of year when farmers are going to meetings and taking stock of what they did last year to win ready for the 2006 farming season.

Their meetings may not unhurt like the most fascinating incidents but it is stuff that is important to farmers.

Take, for example, the Illinois Wheat Forum, scheduled for Monday in mountain Vernon. The seminar includes sessions forward nitrogen and intensive management studies, fungicides, wheat and barley scab and the always popular and informative marketing foresight by Darrel Good, University of Illinois professor of agriculture and consumer economics.
